Keeping Time With Jesus
Know what a metronome is? It’s a device that musicians use to establish a regular beat. On January 7th we begin a series titled, “Keeping Time with Jesus: Studies in the Life of Christ.” In our Mennonite Brethren Confession of Faith, we say that
“God revealed himself supremely in Jesus Christ,”
“Christ is the one whom the New Testament proclaims,”
“God’s love is fully demonstrated in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ,”
“Jesus calls people who have experienced the joy of new birth to follow him as disciples.”
So our focus will be on Jesus, and our interest will be to sound the discipleship beat to which he calls us.
Most of January and February will be spent in the Gospel of Mark, and most of March through May will be spend in the Gospel of John.
