Jonathan Simpson

Interim Co-Lead Pastor

In my role here at Bakerview, I get to serve, connect with, and disciple youth and young adults. I have a passion for people and getting to know who they are and what really matters to them. Through preaching, teaching and leading here at Bakerview, I get to dig deeper with these young people as we learn what it means to follow Jesus in the here and now.

I am fascinated by all things theology, which is why I graduated from Columbia Bible College in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies with a minor in Biblical Teaching. I am always game for a conversation about the Bible and theology and I love listening to podcasts and reading books that challenge me in my faith and life. Some pastors and authors who I have enjoyed learning from are John Mark Comer, Brian Zahnd, Rachel Held Evans, Rob Bell, Thomas Merton, Dallas Willard, Richard Rohr, N.T. Wright, Walter Brueggemann, Pete Enns, and many more!

I married my wife, Brittany, in the Spring of 2018. We love making, drinking and talking about good coffee, discovering new places to go in Vancouver, going to concerts of bands we love, talking about the Enneagram, hiking, making and eating Thai food, and hanging out with friends. In my free time I enjoy watching too much NBA basketball, discovering new music and collecting records for my collection, playing squash, listening to and watching comedy, and playing the drums.
